- The "Hip Mama" button is working and updated with a brand new description of ME! Yea! It's about time, right? I'd appreciate any thoughts or comments on anything else I could include. So Read THIS & let me know what you think.
- I've also updated the Blogroll. If you'd like to be included, let me know...would love to have you included & read your blog. I'm thinking of categorizing the blogs just "interests"--some are everyday reading, others are photography or organizational. It's an ongoing project.
- Debt Free Wannabe is my blog specifically related to our journey to get out of debt...and I'm trying to link it directly to the site...but haven't gotten that far yet.,
- "Hip Stuff" & the "Junk Drawer" are also still a work in progress. I'd like to Feature posts with cool products or a neat craft, that sort of thing. If you have something (or an idea), or a fave product...I'd like to feature it on the blog--then all of those items would also be featured on that tab as well. The "Junk Drawer" is for anything else that doesn't quite fit anywhere else. I know you have one...and I have a whole cabinet here (no lie).

The Little Details

He Leadeth Me
It may sound a bit cheesy to you, but I love Hymns. There is something that stirs in my soul when I hear one or even read one. The Language, the inflection and the stories behind each one. This happened to be part of my Bible Study. Written in the Early 1860's during the confusion and insecurity of a Civil War. This encouraged me today, and maybe it will you too.
HE LEADETH ME
He leadeth me! O blessed thought!
O words with heav'nly comfort fraught!
Whate'er I do, where'er I be,
Still 'tis God's hand that
leadeth me!
He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand he
leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
For by His hand He
leadeth me.
Lord, I would clasp Thy hand
in mine,
Nor ever murmur nor repine,
Content , whatever lot I see,
Since 'tis Thy hand that
leadeth me!
And when my task on earth
is done,
When, by Thy grace, the
vict'ry's won,
E'en death's cold wave I will
not flee,
Since God through Jordan
leadeth me!

Have a wonderful & blessed day!

About Hip Mama
So you want to know who I am? Well, for starters, I'm a Wannabe Super Hip Mama of four beautiful kiddos. I'm in my early 30's and I plan on staying there for at least the next 10 years. I've been married to my best friend, that's Matt (the Hip Hubby) for 10 1/2 years. It hasn't always been easy but I wouldn't want to do this married thing with anyone but him! You're welcome to read about us & any thoughts I've had on married life HERE.
Okay, back to the Hip Mama thing. Why "Hip Mama"? I'm striving to be a great mom, wife, and friend. I'm trying to be relevant, real, not overly concerned with the outside, but not so consumed with the trappings of motherhood that I forget about me. That may sound selfish to you, but it's healthy for me mentally, physically, and spiritually. If I remember to take care of myself in those areas, I feel I'll be a better Mom, Wife & Friend. To me that's "Cool" or "Hip" in my case. So "Hip Mama" doesn't necessarily mean I follow the latest trends or anything...for me it's about being real & meeting you just where you're at. And Vice Versa.
The Cool Kids in this family consist of Quinny, my big girl who's 8 going on 18. "The Bean"-that's Ella, and she is an awesome 7 yr. old that totally beats to her own drum! Miles--"the Crazy Little Guy" is almost 5 and he is full of passion and life with the red hair to match. And, Lily-the happiest baby ever...my sweet gift of joy in the midst of sorrow.
A little more about me... I love my Jesus. I believe in a personal relationship in God through Jesus His son. I strive to Honor Him in what I do and say and how I raise my kids. I know I miss the mark often, but thankfully I'm forgiven, and I'm loved and accepted by the Creator in spite of my flaws.
I love reading and scrapbooking (which I am now researching going "digital"). I enjoy photography, traveling (though I don't get to often), naughty reality & trashy tv shows. I like crafty stuff but don't often get to do it with all the kids. I like vintage or vintage inspired things, pottery barn (and I work at PB Kids part time to get a discount), antique stores, writing (blogging) and baking (without the kids).
Oh and I have Red Hair & Freckles and I love them both!
Thanks for visiting Hip Mama's Blog!
