Spice it Up and Text

Since moving to Texas and my husband getting a new phone, my husband and I have a new way of communicating. Some couples write notes, to one another, but my hubby is "just not into that". He started text messaging me during the day with encouraging messages just to let me know he was thinking about me. Praying for me etc...knowing that I was struggling or lonely. I really look forward to his messages. Sometimes it's "Have a great day!" Other times he inserts nuances like "Good Morning my love, I hope you have a wonderful day!" I usually respond...in kind. Depending on the day there can be more of an exchange. Sometimes the messages are more intimate...which even after 10 years of marriage, it seems easier to express a desire for intimacy or whatever in a note or text, rather than face to face.

It's a good feeling to know your husband is thinking about you randomly throughout the day. Hip Hubby is awesome, though he's never been a romantic. Texting is romantic for us...when I get a message with "my love" in it, it makes me look forward to seeing him. It adds just a little bit of spark to my day, and spices things up. What kind of things do you do to keep your friendship and romance alive in your marriage?

Sweet. We try to do things like that, too, although we don't have cell phones.

Yesterday, I got Billy a Cadbury Cream Egg at Walmart, and just a few minutes ago, he called me just to tell me I'm beautiful. (This is extra special cause he doesn't even have a phone at work, so he had to use someone else's.)

AWwww. You guys are cute!

We text and email. And Matt is a big fan of the E-card, in which he always writes sweet things that make my day brighter!

I love hearing what other people do...or what means a lot to them.
